Why fly with Gulf Air


Gulf Air offers Web Check-in to its passengers. This service is available from 22 hours to 90 minutes before your flight’s scheduled departure time. With your check-in done, if you have no check-in baggage, you can proceed directly to the boarding gate. If you have baggage to check-in, there are “Web check-in baggage drop” counters available so you can avoid the long queues. Be sure to be punctual, boarding gates close 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Baggage Allowances

If Gulf Air operates your entire flight, Economy Class passengers are entitled to 30kg (L95cm x H75cm x W45cm) of checked baggage, and Falcon Gold passengers are entitled to 40kg. If you are a member of the Gold or Silver Gulf Air Falcon flyer Program, you are given an additional 20kg and 15kg respectively. Carry-on baggage for Economy Class passengers is restricted to one piece of dimensions 45 x 40 x 30cm not exceeding 9kg. Falcon Gold passengers are however restricted to one bag of dimensions 55 x 40 x 40 or a briefcase of dimensions 45 x 40 x 30cm, not exceeding 9kg. If your baggage exceeds the airline’s regulations, you should expect to pay something between USD 15 (NZD 17) to USD 60 (NZD 70), depending on the location of your departure airport and destination airport. If you are travelling on Gulf Air codeshare flights (not fully operated by Gulf Air), you are subjected to checked baggage policies of the airline operating your flight. Check on the website or with the airline just to be safe.

Inflight Services

Shop duty-free with Gulf Air inflight and avoid the crowd at airports. The airline has also launched online pre-order shopping services for flights departing from Bahrain to certain airports. If you choose to fly Falcon Gold, you will also have the privilege of having their Sky Chef at your disposal. The Sky Chef will provide you with personalized service, talk you through your choices, ask you your preferences, and personally prepare your meal for you. On top of the usual soft drinks, you will also have access to wines, spirit, and vintage champagnes. If you are travelling with children on long-haul flights, Gulf Air also provides a free Sky Nanny service on-board wide-bodied aircrafts. These childcare specialists will be at your aid the moment you board your flight. They will help keep an eye on and entertain your child while you catch a much-needed nap, or wish to enjoy the inflight entertainment.
