Icelandair flights

Icelandair is the subsidiary of Icelandair Group, and the national airline of Iceland. Founded in 1937, it was originally named Flugfélag. Iceland sits mid-way between Europe and America making it an ideal stop-over for travellers flying between these continents. Today, Icelandair operates flights to over 20 cities in Europe and more than 12 cities in North America.

Why fly with Icelandair

Check-in

Icelandair offers speedy and hassle-free check-in options. Online check-in is available for flights to Europe and Canada up to 36 hours, and for flights to and from the United States up to 24 hours. If you’re on the move and don’t have access to a printer, Mobile Check-in is the way to go. E-boarding pass gets set to your mobile phone. Alternatively, for a more personalised warm Icelandair service, you can check-in at the airport in person up to 3 hours before the flight. There are also Icelandair self-service check-in kiosks at selected airports - Keflavik Airport, London Heathrow Airport, Copenhagen Airport and Arlanda Airport. Check-in closes 90 minutes before departure.

Inflight Services

With a selection of popular movies, television shows and music, Icelandair passengers will be spoilt for choice. Indulge in the wide variety of light bites and snacks while being entertained by the in-flight programmes. Meals are provided for Economy Comfort and Saga passengers only. Economy passengers can buy in-flight meals from Saga Shop Kitchen. A collection of duty-free items are available for your purchase, at amazing prices from Saga Shop. For those who need to stay connected to the internet, there’s in-flight WIFI in most Icelandair carriers.

Seating

The comfortable seats on Icelandair spacious carriers can be reserved online upon purchasing tickets through the airline’s website. Economy Comfort passengers get allocated seats closer to the front of the carrier with more generous leg room.

Booking Fees/Payment Methods

There are no fees for online bookings made directly through Icelandair website. Booking fees may apply for flights booked through the airline’s representatives and agencies.

Baggage Allowances

The checked baggage allowance varies widely between classes. Passengers travelling Saga and Economy are allowed two pieces of check-in bags, with weight restrictions of 32kg each, and 23kg each, respectively. Saga Gold and Saga Silver travellers get an additional bag, with weight limit depending on the cabin type. Saga and Economy Comfort passengers are permitted two pieces of cabin bags weighing not more than 10kg each, whereas Economy is allowed one piece of 10kg carry-on.
