Royal Brunei Flights

The Brunei Government owns the Royal Brunei Airlines wholly. The airline company first commenced in 1974 with an initial fleet of only two aircrafts serving Singapore, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
In the 1990s, the airline’s business drastically improved and increased the number of its aircrafts and flight routes both domestically and internationally. It won the best foreign airline award in the category of Best Airlines in the Sabah Tourism Awards in the year 2011.

Presently, the Royal Brunei Airlines operates a fleet of 10 aircrafts, and flies to 14 destinations in South East Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Australia.

Why fly with Royal Brunei Airlines


The Royal Brunei Airlines offers passengers online check-in. For passengers utilizing this service, you may check in 24 hours to 60mins prior to your departure. If you have no check-in baggage, you may proceed directly to the immigration counters, but for those with check-in baggage, you are still required to visit the check-in counter to hand over your baggage. For passengers checking in in person, it is recommended, as with most airlines, to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your departure to ensure enough time for checking in, verification and baggage check-ins.

Baggage Allowances

The Royal Brunei Airlines offers its passengers travelling on business class a 30 or 40kg weight limit for checked baggage and up to 12kg in weight for cabin baggage. There is a 20 or 25kg weight limit for checked baggage for its economy class passengers, and up to 7kg in weight for cabin baggage. Excess baggage fees will apply if the weight limit is exceeded, with rates varying depending on the destination of travel.


Advanced reservation of seats is possible only for Business class ticket holder. For the economy class passengers, allocated seats will be subjected to availability during check in.

Booking Fees/Payment Methods

There are no fees for online bookings made directly through Royal Brunei Airlines website. Booking fees may apply for flights booked through the airline’s representatives and agencies.

Inflight Services

Royal Brunei Airlines offers inflight entertainment.Its SkyShow Entertainment system allows passengers to peruse and choose from a number of entertainment options while crusing through the air. The options include classic and hit movies from Hollywood and TV programmes suitable for all ages. The screening schedule is available for download on their website. The personal inflight entertainment unit is only available on Boeing 777 flights and on selected routes.
