Ways to Check In

LATAM Airlines and all its subsidiaries allow you to check in at your departure airport or through the website. For most flights, the online check-in function opens 48 hours before take-off, but for LATAM Brasil or LATAM Paraguay it opens 72 hours before departure.

To check in online, you will need your reservation code and the surname of the passenger who booked the flight. During this process, you can choose a seat for your journey.

Boarding passes can then be printed and taken to the airport, where you can drop off any bags at the designated spot.

Seating can be chosen ahead of time, but this is only free to passengers on the higher fares or those with frequent flyer miles.

Whether you're entitled to a complimentary selection or not, you can pick your seat online, by calling the airline or at the airport (available 48 hours before the flight).

Special seats, such as those in the front rows or exit rows, give passengers up to 4 inches extra leg room.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

For economy class flights between South America and New Zealand or Australia, passengers are allowed 2 checked bags weighing up to 23kg each. The dimensions of your bag must be no more than 158cm.

Premium Economy and Premium Business travellers are entitled to 3 checked items.

There are different rules for other routes, so be sure to check your booking reference for details.

Your personal item must fit under the seat in front of you, and can be no bigger than 45cm x 25cm x 20cm.
